  1. Uses white dal (without the skins) and a pressure cooker. Upbeat and the
narrator has a good voice. However, every ingredient is presented with a
slow zoom (in or out). Why? Are people really that bored with life? The
low-key Indian Zamphir trio backing track was nicely done. I won’t be
trying this one today: I have black urad dal on hand an no pressure cooker.

    WOULD HELP!!!!

  3. This is so awesome. I’m gonna try this tomorrow. Will let you know how it
    goes. 🙂

  4. Well now then, this looks like a delicious dish to try this morning.
    Breakfast here I come!

  5. Thanks for the recipe. It’s a quick and healthy recipe, perfect for what I
    was looking for. :)

  6. Thanks for your great dal recipe!!! I’ve just made this and it turns out
    really good! So delicious. :)

  7. Thanks for the recipe and instructions! My pressure cooker does not
measure time by the number of whistles. Instead, it reaches the right
pressure and has a color indicator on top. Can you tell me how long it
takes for your pressure cooker to get to three whistles? Thank you.

  8. Like your videos:) .A suggestion- would be helpful if you could mention or
add a note about the measure of each spice as you’re adding them. I end up
having to go back in the video a couple of times to check what spices and
    how much was added. Thanks

  9. Thanks a lot for this wonderful video. I followed it and dal came out
really well. Keep posting new videos . Cheers.

  10. What if I don’t have a pressure cooker? Can you give me an idea of how to
cook it in a regular pot? Thank you!

  11. You can most certainly use a regular pot, but it will take longer. Bring it
up to a boil, then lower the heat and continue to boil on low until the
grains are soft and mushy. I’m sorry that I really have no idea how long it
will take. I can also recommend using masoor dal (split red lentils) as
they cook very quickly – in case time is an issue. I hope that helps,
please let me know how it goes!

  12. To simmer; should I do so without opening the cooker? or should I open the
cooker and just place the lid on top ?

  13. Thanks for the suggestion! I will consider doing this in future videos 🙂
    And thank you for watching!

  14. I made these last night and dehydrated them just for 5 hours just so they
would hold their shape a little better. So GOOD! I also added smoked
paprika and some liquid smoke. Taste like sweet bbq to me! Thanks for the

  15. I am vegan. I tried these, just made them a bit spicier with chillies and a
little bit of garlic. And it’s a great alternative for a dinner!

  16. Wow this looks so easy. I eat more and more plant based foods now and even
though I eat some cooked foods this still looks amazing.
