Jay-Z is making another addition to his entrepreneurial juggernaut by partnering with Duracell Powermat for “Wireless Power Nation,” a phone charging system that will be installed on tables and bars in social venues. As the spokesperson for the project, which allows users to charge their devices just by placing them on a Powermat-equipped table – with a nationwide roll-out, coffeeshops, restaurants, clubs, gyms, and bars across the country will be outfitted. Currently, Jay-Z offers the service in his own 40/40 Club in New York City. Jay-z explains in a statement:
I believe in the future of wireless energy and I believe that Duracell Powermat is the company to bring on the revolution. I’m partnering with Duracell Powermat because they’re providing the solutions for the future.
The Powermat charging system is not new, and has been around for a few years. What is new is how it will be implemented – allowing people an opportunity to charge their phone no matter what they may doing.
