Hundreds of mourners are gathering at Newark Symphony Hall for the viewing of Nia Haqq, the young woman slain alongside her fiance Michael Muchioki near their Randolph Avenue home in Jersey City early Sunday after their engagement party.

"We want some good to come out of this," said Sandra Muchioki, Michael’s mother. "So many people in the community who didn’t know them are heartbroken."

Sandra Muchioki said they want to start a scholarship in the couple’s name  so others can escape the danger of the streets.

She added that the Haqq family will be at Michael Muchioki’s funeral tomorrow  to help them. @
